Collaborating with the Athens Housing and Advocacy Team (AHAT) and the Athens-Clarke County Geospatial Information Office (GIO), students in the Community Mapping Lab have worked to digitize and analyze data on evictions and evictors in the county. Beginning in summer 2022, students in CML have assisted AHAT in digitizing court records related to eviction, which have then been hosted by the GIO. In spring 2023, the Community GIS class did further updating of these records and included additional information on property sales, parcel ownership, and the county's Eviction Prevention Program.

Storymap on eviction research
The result of the Community GIS students' work was a storymap collection of research findings, presented as part of an event at the Athens-Clarke County Public Library on May 5, 2023. That collection is publicly available through this link. The specific sections are:
- Which populations are most affected by current eviction practices?
- Where are the hot spots of evictions in the county?
- How are evictions spatially related to housing stress and rent costs?
- Which landlords are the largest property owners and evictors in Athens?
- Where are these landlords located, and what else is known about them?
- Which areas of the county were the biggest recipients of the first version of ACC's Eviction Prevention Program?
CML students will continue to work on this project as it transitions to an internship-based program hosted within the ACC GIO.
